Modern Conversations with Alfred Wallis

This project was a collaboration with Tate St Ives and Falmouth University. I was a part of a group of four and became the Producer and Editor of the project. I was in charge of the communication with our contact at Tate St Ives throughout the project. Three ideas were pitched to our contact in a treatment and then one concept was chosen to take forward, depending on cost and what would fit with their Instagram feed. As the Producer I had to find artists within the university to interview, using a series of questions regarding the current exhibition being held at the museum by local artist, Alfred Wallis.

The editing process was interesting for me as I had never before worked with stop motion. In the end, a lot of the footage got cut due to the length the Instagram video needed to be, so I went through and chose the best parts of the 45 minuet interview to fit into the two minuets. For this our Director also did not have any editing plans so I had free rein on the final look of the video. This was my first time being able to do this and it allowed me to strengthen my skills in Premier Pro. I chose the text style for the video and recorded foley for most of the added background audio. At the end of this process, the client loved the video and it is now available to view on the Tate St Ives Instagram.
